"BENGALS PRESEASON IN HD"

For the first time all Bengals preseason telecasts will be broadcast in High Definition and presented by hhgregg for the upcoming 2008 season.

The three team-produced telecasts (the Aug. 11 opener at Green Bay will be produced by ESPN HD) will be carried on Local 12 (WKRC-CBS) in Cincinnati and across the Bengals Television Network.

The three Bengals-produced games in HD will include:

  • Sunday, August 17, Bengals vs. Lions, 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, August 23, Bengals vs. Saints, 7:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, August 28, Bengals at Colts, 7 p.m.

    In addition to their eight-game Thursday/Saturday night package that kicks off in HD on Thanksgiving night, NFL Network offers wall-to-wall coverage of the NFL including:

    SUMMARY OF UPCOMING BENGALS-RELATED PROGRAMMING ON NFL NETWORK

    7/17/08 (11 p.m. ET), Film Session, Super Bowl XXIII: San Francisco 49ers vs. Cincinnati Bengals - Trailing 16-13 late in the fourth quarter Joe Montana led the 49ers on a legendary drive that culminated with a 10-yard touchdown pass to John Taylor and the 49ers third Super Bowl win of the decade. (Repeat airs 7/18, 2 a.m.)

    7/19/08 (7 a.m. ET), Game of the Week, Cincinnati Bengals vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (12/4/05) - Carson Palmer passed for 227 yards and three touchdowns, as the Bengals took control of the AFC North with a 38-31 victory over the Steelers at Heinz Field. (Repeat airs 7/20, 12 a.m.; 7/20, 3 a.m.)

    7/19/08 (Noon ET), Cincinnati Bengals vs. Green Bay Packers from 9/20/92: Favre's First Comeback: Brett Favre took over the quarterback job in relief of injured starter Don Majkowski to engineer a 24-23 comeback victory against the Bengals. He was 22-for-39 passing that day for 289 yards and two touchdowns.

    7/23/08 (7 a.m. ET), Game of the Week, Cincinnati Bengals vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (9/24/06) - Carson Palmer throws for 193 yards and four touchdowns and T.J. Houshmandzadeh grabs nine passes for 94 yards and two scores as the Bengals mount a fourth-quarter comeback victory over the Steelers at Heinz Field. (Repeat airs 7/24, 12 a.m.; 7/24, 3 a.m.)

    7/24/08 (10:30 p.m. ET), NFL Total Access, 2006 - Week 17: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals (12/31/06) - NFL Network Game of the Week takes fans inside the game using NFL Films' signature slow-motion cinematography and sideline sound to give fans a unique and in-depth perspective of how the game was won.

    8/18/08 (12 a.m. ET), Preseason Game 2, Detroit Lions @ Cincinnati Bengals: See a replay of the Lions-Bengals preseason game in its entirety (in HD) (Repeat airs 8/20, 9 a.m.).

    8/24/08 (12:30 a.m. ET), Preseason Game 3, New Orleans Saints @ Cincinnati Bengals: See a replay of the Saints-Bengals preseason game in its entirety (in HD) (Repeat airs 8/25, 1 p.m.; 8/27, 9 a.m.).

    8/30/08 (2 p.m. ET), Preseason Game 4, Cincinnati Bengals @ Indianapolis Colts: See a replay of the Bengals-Colts preseason game in its entirety (in HD).

    BENGALS 2007 RADIO NETWORK

    Bengals games were aired this season on three Clear Channel flagship radio stations in the Cincinnati market. All games were carried by 1530HOMER The Sports Animal (WCKY-AM) and 92.5 The Fox (WOFX-FM).

    In addition, at the conclusion of the Major League Baseball season, games were also aired on 700 WLW-AM. The Bengals Radio Network includes stations across Ohio as well as in Kentucky, Indiana and West Virginia.

    Brad Johansen, former play-by-play voice on Bengals preseason television, completed his eighth season on radio play-by-play. Johansen is sports anchor for Cincinnati's WKRC-TV (CBS/Channel 12).

    Dave Lapham, a Bengals offensive lineman from 1974-83, completed his 22nd consecutive season as the analyst on Bengals radio broadcasts. He also works as a reporter/anaylst for Cincinnati's WLWT-TV (NBC/Ch. 5) and is an analyst for Big 12 college games on TV's Fox Sports Net. In past years he broadcast NFL games for NBC and FOX and has worked the NFL Europe League's World Bowl game on Sporting News Radio.
