2008 Schedule Preview

RELATED: Bengals 2008-09 Schedule Rotation

The Bengals opponents for 2008 are set, but the dates and times of each game will not be announced by the NFL until early to mid-April. If you would like season ticket information for the 2008 Bengals home schedule, call (513) 621-TDTD (8383) or click here.

SCHEDULE BREAKDOWN
Whatever team wins the 2008 AFC North will earn it. AFC North teams will face four of the seven most difficult NFL schedules in 2008. Pittsburgh has the NFL's toughest schedule, facing teams with a combined winning percentage of .598. Baltimore will have the league's fourth-most difficult schedule (.551) followed by Cincinnati and Cleveland at No. 6 and No. 7 (both face teams with a combined winning percentage of .547).

The New England Patriots, who completed the first 16-0 season in NFL history in 2007, may have a chance to repeat the feat in 2008. Amazingly, the Patriots will have the NFL's easiest schedule in '08, facing opponents that had a winning percentage of just .387 in '07.

The following is a quick glance at the Bengals 2008 schedule of opponents.

HOME
Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati Bengals

VS.

The Bengals have had Baltimore's number in recent years, winning six of the last seven meetings, including the last three in Cincinnati.

Cleveland Browns vs. Cincinnati Bengals

VS.

This series looks to be heating up again. The Browns will no doubt come in looking for revenge after the Bengals effectively knocked them out of last year's playoffs with a 19-14 win at PBS.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals

VS.

The Steelers have won their last seven visits to the Queen City (including the 2005 postseason). The last Bengals home victory over the Steelers was a 26-23 overtime game in 2001.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Cincinnati Bengals

VS.

One of eight games in '08 against an '07 playoff team. Jacksonville leads the all-time series 11-5, but the Jags are just 4-4 in Cincinnati.

Tennessee Titans vs. Cincinnati Bengals

VS.

In his last two games against the Titans, Carson Palmer has completed 59 of his 71 pass attempts (83.1%) for 555 yards and five touchdowns.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Cincinnati Bengals

VS.

Philadelphia will be making its first-ever PBS appearance and first in Cincinnati since 1994. The Bengals are 3-0 all-time against the Eagles at home.

Washington Redskins vs. Cincinnati Bengals

VS.

Washington's first regular-season trip to Cincinnati since 1991, a 34-27 win that remains its only victory in Cincy in three tries.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Cincinnati Bengals

VS.

After oddly traveling to Arrowhead for three straight seasons from 2005-07, the Bengals finally get to play the Chiefs at home. Cincinnati's last game against K.C. at PBS was the memorable 24-19 victory that snapped the Chiefs' perfect 9-0 start in 2003.

ROAD
Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens

@

T.J. Houshmandzadeh has become a Ravens killer. In 11 career games against Baltimore, Houshmandzadeh has 70 catches for 879 yards (12.6) and six TDs, an average of 6.4 catches and 79.9 yards per game.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns

@

The Bengals will look to make amends for their dismal 51-45 loss in Cleveland last season, a game that saw the Browns roll up 554 total yards.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Pittsburgh Steelers

@

A key battle against the reigning division champions. The Bengals had won three of their last four visits to Pittsburgh before last season's 24-10 defeat.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Houston Texans

@

Coach Gary Kubiak looks to lead the improving Texans to their first-ever winning season. The Bengals have won all three previous meetings with the Texans.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Indianapolis Colts

@

The trip up I-74 hasn't been kind to the Bengals as they've dropped their last four in Indy. Cincinnati has allowed an average of 35.4 points to the Colts in the last five games in the series. Indy will be debuting its brand new Lucas Oil Stadium.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Dallas Cowboys

@

Before winning 26-3 in their last meeting with Dallas in 2004, the Bengals had allowed an average of 28.6 points to the Cowboys in the previous eight games in the series.

Cincinnati Bengals @ New York Giants

@

The Bengals are a perfect 5-0 all-time against the defending NFL champs in Cincinnati, but they have never beaten the Giants in New York (0-2).

Cincinnati Bengals @ New York Jets

@

The Bengals will be making two trips to Giants Stadium in '08, once each to play the Giants and Jets. Cincinnati will be looking to snap a six-game losing skid to the Jets in New York, dating back to 1981.
