Joe Burrow threw Monday and the sun came out in Bengaldom once again.

Burrow has been throwing during the offseason as he comes back from his injured throwing wrist, but Monday was the first day of Phase Two of the Bengals offseason program and the first time he was able to do it with his receivers on site. And he came out firing all sorts of throws with his customary velocity.

"That," said tight end Mike Gesicki, "might hurt your hands."

After the Bengals had gathered on the field for the first time this season at the IEL Indoor Facility, his receivers and position coach offered reviews of rave. The NFL's all-time completion percentage leader apparently hasn't lost any points.

Wide receiver Kwamie Lassiter: "He didn't miss a beat … Whatever he did in the offseason worked."

Wide receiver Andrei Iosivas: "You like the amount of power he has on it. I feel like that's what you're really looking for. You like to see the velocity."

Wide receiver Trenton Irwin: "He looked like he did last year. He looked smooth. I didn't see anything different."

Burrow went through everything Brad Kragthorpe asked during the one-hour workout in his first practice as the club's new quarterbacks coach, and that included the opening footwork drills around bags and other obstacles, be they medicine balls or Kragthorpe himself.

"I think he looked as quick and as athletic as I've seen him look," Kragthorpe said. "He looked like the Joe Burrow we're used to seeing. I didn't see any difference. I thought the ball came out of his hand well. Confidently. I'm happy where he's at."

Iosivas caught some long ones as Burrow worked with his receivers on air.

"He was pushing it on the deeper throws down the field," Iosivas said. "He was slinging it and really putting some heat on those (passes)."

The Bengals are back at it Tuesday morning. The week closes Friday morning when they host their rookie minicamp.
