The Midnight Gourmet

Heading to the Bengals game this weekend and looking for some great tailgating tips?

Sure, you can still partake in the staples - chips, burgers and dogs - but why not augment your tailgating experience with a few unique, tasty dishes from The Midnight Gourmet?

Nick Tolbert, a.k.a. The Midnight Gourmet, is back this season to provide his weekly recipes for Bengals fans. Check back prior to each Bengals game throughout the season for the latest dish.

THIS WEEK'S TASTY RECIPE (NOVEMBER 18, 2007)
Grilled Scallops with Garlic and Fresh Oregano

1/3 cup olive oil
1/3 cup white wine
1/2 tsp sugar
1 Tbs mince garlic
1 # Jumbo Sea Scallops
1 Tbs Fresh Oregano Minced

In a shallow glass bowl, whisk together the oil, the whit wine, the sugar, garlic, and salt and pepper to taste. Add scallops and let them marinate, covered and chilled, turning them once, for 1 hour. Transfer the scallops to an oiled rack set about 4 inches oven glowing coals and grill them for 3 minutes on each side, or until they are thoroughly cooked. Divide the scallops between 2 plates and sprinkle them with the oregano.

ABOUT THE MIDNIGHT GOURMET

In recent years, Nick has been dedicated to teaching others the art of classical cooking. He has been a featured writer for several magazines and newspapers. In 1998, he launched "Denova" - a company that created a popular local cable television program called The Midnight Gourmet.
