CINCINNATI (February 14, 2005) – The Marvin Lewis Community Fund and the Anthony Muñoz Foundation have announced their annual high school football awards. Luke Botting and Kyle Day were named Anthony Muñoz Foundation Linemen of the Year presented by Old Spice and Coach Rodney Roberts was honored as the Marvin Lewis Coach of the Year by Provident Bank.

Botting, Day, and Coach Roberts were recognized for their achievements at the Greater Cincinnati Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame's annual scholar-athlete banquet on February 9 at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza. Bengals Head Coach Marvin Lewis was the guest speaker.

Botting is a 4.0 student and ranked first in his senior class at Ross High School. He is involved in student government, the National Honor Society, his church youth group and is a volunteer Sunday school teacher. In addition to his first team all-conference and all-academic achievements in football, Botting has also lettered in baseball and basketball.

Day is also rated first in his Franklin High School class posting a 4.5 GPA. He is a team captain, was named to the all conference academic team and is a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish club. Franklin Head Coach Deron Click highlighted Day's leadership on and off the field, including his efforts in football fundraisers to defray the costs of the school's pay-to-play system.

Coach Roberts has been the key to Springboro's resurgence on and off the field. He led Springboro to its most successful season in school history posting a 10-2 record and a first round playoff victory, the first in school history. Coach Roberts has also been instrumental in improving the character and integrity of the football players and the team GPA has risen as a result. Serving as a role model and mentor, Coach Roberts has brought success back to Springboro on and off the field.

The Offensive and Defensive Lineman of the Year Awards presented by Old Spice are given out to two of the top prep linemen in the Tri-State. The 2003 recipients were Ryan Stanchek of LaSalle High School and Nick Davis of Colerain High School. Stanchek is now attending West Virginia University while Davis is at Bowling Green State University. Edgewood High School Head Coach Steve Channell was the inaugural winner of the Marvin Lewis Coach of the Year in 2004.
