Beckett Spreads Holiday CheerDecember 20, 2004 - Rogers Beckett of the Cincinnati Bengals spent some time in Apopka playing Santa this year, making the Christmas wishes of dozens of children come true. Beckett, a five-year veteran of the National Football League and 1995 Apopka High School graduate, returned to Apopka this week to help put a smile on the faces of children in need. Read more...
Rocket Man
 Stewart helps a North Middle School student prepare his science experiment. | December 13, 2004 - Bengals tight end Tony Stewart visited North Middle School to help students conduct a science experiment that involved a two-liter pop bottle, a PVC tube, duct tape and a little force.
Stewart helped students ready their rockets to launch and he provided the muscle behind the actual launching of these rockets by stomping on a two-liter pop bottle that forced air through a PVC tube to propel the paper rocket through the cafeteria.
The launch accompanied a lesson on ecosystems, as the students tried to land on a make-believe planet and discuss what life is like on their planet, and how they will survive.
Bengals Celebri-tree
December 13, 2004 - The Marvin Lewis Community Fund was the sponsor this year of a decorated "Celibri-tree" to benefit the Tender Mercies, a Cincinnati charity that provides housing and individualized supportive services to homeless persons with histories of mental illness.
The tree featured silver ornaments, each signed by a member of the Cincinnati Bengals, along with a "tiger tail" garland and signed Marvin Lewis football as a gift under the tree. The tree raised $1,000 for Tender Mercies.
2004 Toys for Tots Collection ResultsNovember 29, 2004 - The Cincinnati Bengals and the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves are pleased to announce the results of our 2004 Toys for Tots collection held prior to the Bengals-Browns game on Sunday, November 28. Giving Thanks
Several Bengals players, including Frank Chamberlin, Ricot Joseph, Shayne Graham, Scott Kooistra, Terrell Roberts, Levi Jones, Langston Moore, Robert Geathers, Cliff Russell, Greg Brooks, Kenny Watson, T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Larry Stevens helped to distribute food at the FreestoreFoodbank on November 23.
Carson Palmer was on hand at CAIN (Churches Active in Northside) to help distribute food and personal care items to area families. This annual Thanksgiving food distribution is a project of a two-year-old partnership between the international charity and relief organization, Feed The Children and Athletes First, one of the country's premier sports representation firms.
FreestoreFoodbank and the Bengals Team UpNovember 22, 2004 - The FreestoreFoodbank and Cincinnati Bengals Annual Holiday Canned Food Drive held prior to the Bengals-Steelers game Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium was a rousing success. More than 13,000 pounds of canned good donations were made, nearly tripling the amount that was received last season. Thanks to your help, the FreestoreFoodbank is expecting to feed more than 5,000 families over the holidays. Thank you to all Bengals fans that provided donations.

- Anthony Mitchell visited the CincyAfterSchool Program at Central Fairmount School to talk with the students about academics, character and hard work.
- Brad St. Louis was the special guest of Beechwood Elementary School for their "Stay in School Tailgate Party" where he wished the team luck in the upcoming playoff games and signed autographs.
- Kelley Washington visited a 3rd-grade class at Fairfield East Elementary to talk about his journey to the NFL followed by a question and answer period with the students.

(Bengals photo) | November 9, 2004 - Several Bengals participated in Tuesday's Cystic Fibrosis Celebrity Waiters Luncheon at the Waterfront. Sandy Schick, personal assistant to head coach Marvin Lewis, is a member of the committee that raised in the range of $60-70,000 at the 18th annual event. Serving as waiters were running back Rudi Johnson, wide receivers T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Chad Johnson, linebacker Brian Simmons, kicker Shayne Graham, and punter Kyle Richardson. Bengals executive vice president Katie Blackburn also did some celebrity serving.
Bengals Help Raise Funds For Sports ComplexOctober 26, 2004 - C Rich Braham, WR Chad Johnson, QB Carson Palmer and WR Peter Warrick participated in Holy Cross High School 2004 Sports Nite, an annual fundraising event that featured Boomer Esiason as guest speaker. All proceeds from this event will be used to complete the development of the Eva G. Farris Sports Park, a complex with a multi-purpose athletic facility in Covington, Ky. The complex will be used by local high schools, youth organizations and the general public. Other guests included Hall of Famer Anthony Munoz.
Busy TuesdayOctober 19, 2004 - Here's how a few Bengals spent their days off:
- Kelley Washington visited the Fairfield East Elementary School in Fairfield Township to talk about his journey to the NFL, followed by a Q&A session.
- At the request of Hamilton County Jobs & Family Services and members of the Cultural Initiatives Committee, Kim Herring spoke in a workshop about motivation and leadership.
- Carl Powell was a special guest of the "Montgomery County Red Ribbon Drug Prevention Week Kick Off" and the "Stay in School Kick Off Rally." He spoke on avoidance of alcohol, drugs, or criminal behavior and the importance of staying in school.
- Shayne Graham and Kenny Watson hosted "Meet the Bengals" Community Night at Gold Star Chili. Kiss FM also participated by broadcasting live from the Tylversville location. Proceeds benefited the Anthony Munoz Foundation and the Marvin Lewis Community Fund.
- Brian Simmons appeared at Meijer for a one-hour autograph session.
- Willie Anderson visited Ayers Elementary in Anderson. As part of the "Ultimate Car Pool Ride," Anderson picked up Max and Mason Monihan in a luxury car and went into their homerooms to talk about being a football player and the importance of staying in school.
- Tony Stewart visited Oakdale Elementary School as a guest reader at the PTA's Family Reading Night.

- Langston Moore visited the Findlay Street neighborhood youth football team practice. He spent time with the team giving pointers on football techniques followed by a talk on his experiences in the game and the importance of education.

The Fund serves such organizations as Boys Hope Girls Hope, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati, Minorities in Mathematics, Science and Engineering, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Success by 6 and Youth, Incorporated. Bengals, Hoxworth Host Blood Drive
 Stewart | October 6, 2004 - The Bengals and Hoxworth Blood Center teamed up for the Third Annual Bengals/Hoxworth Community Blood Drive at Paul Brown Stadium. The blood drive attracted 166 donors and collected 151 units, making it the largest, single day, open-to-the-public blood drive in Greater Cincinnati. The 166 donors is a 25% increase over last year's 133 donors. All donors received a free commemorative T-shirt and were entered into random drawings to win Bengals merchandise. Bengals players and cheerleaders were present to celebrate this special day, and mascot Who-Dey made a special appearance. "I urge everyone to think about how important blood donation is to our community," Bengals spokesperson Tony Stewart said.

Boys & Girls Club Kids Get a Hand
September 21, 2004 - Fifty youths from the five area Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati were selected to participate in the NFL Pepsi, PUNT, PASS & KICK program, held at the Marge Schott-Unnewehr Club in Covington. It was a lively forum for boys and girls ages 8-15 to compete separately against their peers in punting, passing, and placekicking skills. Cincinnati Bengals players Eric Steinbach, Peter Warrick, Reggie Kelly and Reggie Myles were on hand to help run the competition.
Bengals Aid in Opening Avondale Football Stadium
September 7, 2004 - Bengals defensive backs Rogers Beckett and Tory James took part in a dedication ceremony for the new South Avondale Football Stadium. Prior to the ceremony the South Avondale Tigers held an Intra-Team Scrimmage in which Beckett and James joined the team captains in the middle of the field for the coin toss.
