Bengals defensive backs Tory James and Rogers Beckett were on hand to help with the dedication cermony.
September 7, 2004 - Members of the Cincinnati Bengals today took part in a dedication ceremony for the new South Avondale Football Stadium.

Prior to the ceremony the South Avondale Tigers held an Intra-Team Scrimmage in which Bengals players Rogers Beckett and Tory James joined the team captains in the middle of the field for the coin toss. Beckett and James also served as honorary team captains for the game.

The Stadium is located at South Avondale School and will provide the Avondale community a safe football field for parents and children to enjoy. It is the new home of the South Avondale football team, the Avondale Lions and the U.S. Bank Boys & Girls Club Warriors, two neighborhood Pee Wee football teams.

Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) partnered with the NFL Community Fields Program and provided a $100,000 grant for redevelopment of the site, which included the playing surface, grading and utilities, fencing, landscaping, and construction of the bleachers. The local recipient of the grant was the Injury Free Coalition for Kids at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. The other partners financing the field include: Cincinnati Public Schools which contributed the land and $25,000; Cincinnati Recreation Commission provided engineering and survey services as well as long-term maintenance and $25,000; and, the Cincinnati Bengals organization made a $25,000 contribution.

The ceremony featured remarks from Vice Mayor Alicia Reece and representatives from Cincinnati Public Schools, Local Initiatives Support Corporation, Cincinnati Recreation Commission, Cincinnati Bengals, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati, and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center Injury Free Coalition for Kids.
